Good morning and happy WIAW! I cannot believe it is Wednesday already. This week is rolling by at a fast pace for sure. Today I am jumping into the food ! These were my meals – mostly gym eats from yesterday. I worked from home briefly in the morning, and then went to the gym for work around 12:00 after an early lunch. I say early lunch because I usually eat lunch around 1:30. Yesterday, I was very hungry for some reason so it all worked out in the end. I was at the gym for the rest of the day and into the late evening so I had to have lots of stuff packed and prepared to take with me. The only food items we offer at the gym are the prepackaged variety such as bars. I can easily bring those options on my own for a fraction of the price. Plus I am a super picky eater when it comes to bars.
Protein bars can be like candy bars if you are not careful. Also buyer beware they tend to contain a lot of chemicals. If you take the time to read the labels it can be truly eye opening. So now for some WIAW!
What I Ate
I started the day with a cup of black coffee that I made in my French Press.
Butter coffee has been a daily thing for me for the past few weeks, but I felt like mixing it up yesterday. Plus I knew my meals needed to be earlier than usual. A butter coffe is not a meal, but it is the equivalent of a small snack. Eating a quick lunch at home before work seemed like the easiest option yesterday. Sometimes packing up a salad and all that jazz can be very time consuming. I caught up on emails, read a few blogs and set up my social media for the day while I sipped on my cup of joe.
After empting the dishwasher and all those pesky little kitchen chores I got ready for the day. I had a brief moment where I considered getting dress in clothes (real ones), but then it just seemed unnecessary. Under Armour leggings and a long sleeve top. Yesterday was a blustery one in Austin.
Breakfast = Two pasture raised eggs, a slice of bacon and Ezekiel toast with butter…
This should have been a filling breakfast but I was hungry two hours later. That does not happen to me that often so I am not sure what the reason might be. No biggie…I grabbed a Larabar from the pantry and went about my morning and getting ready to head into the gym. Crazy kitchen shadow on the loose here. I have no idea why!
Lunch actually turned out to be really good even through it was just thrown together. The only meat we had defrosted was pork from the farmer’s market so that made it an easy choice.
I fried up the pork in coconut oil and chopped up a mix of vegetables (organic zucchini, pepper, spinach and onion). Half of an avocado on the side. Scott was at work so I left the other half for him for when he got back.
The rest of the day was a bit of a blur of seeing clients and setting up appointments. I am in the process of getting used to my new schedule because it changes a bit every day. I was hoping to fit in a yoga class at 5:00 today, but I inadvertently scheduled a client at this time. Our yoga classes are offered at the busiest time of the day so I am going to have to figure out how to get a class back in my life! Details, details.
I sipped on an iced cold brew, but started to get hungry again.
One of those days I swear! Snacks included a Cara Cara Orange and a few pieces of dark chocolate. And then a piece of Grass-fed beef jerky before my workout when I was done with work.
Scott came by to workout with me which cool because I got to show him around the gym. We did a quick workout together and called it a day. I am still getting comfortable with taking pictures at work, but this is our functional training area.
The food pictures are tricky because our break room is always crowded with a lot of people around. I am just not there yet!
Post sweat session smoothie for the ride home…I say sweat session very loosely here since I was kind of tired to workout and was not at the top of my game. Something is always better than nothing though.
Dinner was a one dish favorite. I made brown rice in my rice maker as the same time I was brewing up some java in my French Press. Adding some kale and grass-fed beef turned it into a meal. Some dark chocolate after dinner was finally enough for me! I was full (finally) and done with eating for the day.
After that it was time to type up this WIAW post and get ready to call it a night! Have a great Wednesday, eat something delicious and I will see you here tomorrow in the AM.
