Interview with Austin Woman Magazine
Hello! Hope your Wednesday is moving along well.
- Morning Hot Yoga Class
Apparently there is a cold front in the air because Austin has become cold overnight! As I rushed out of our apartment, my leggings and sports jacket were not cutting it. No worries, it was a quick walk, and I was on my way to a hot yoga class anyway. This is a sure-fire way to be sure you will never be cold again. All kidding aside, the room was actually slightly cooler than normal which was completely fine with me. I still left looking like a sweaty mess. Apparently that is unavoidable.
I have been switching up my workouts a little bit lately, and decided to make it a yoga day. I have still been attending Lifetime for classes, but I feel like I may need a change of pace soon. I would like to get a feel for the Austin yoga scene! Since I was a little early, I hopped on the elliptical for a short round of cardio (10 minutes) to warm up a little before my class started.
- Austin Woman Magazine
I came home and got ready to head out to meet a contact from Austin Woman Magazine. The publication had reached out to me a few weeks ago to see if they could interview me to get some background on my experience with the 100 Happy Days Challenge. I had written a post back in September that I was going to start the challenge. I have not missed a day! Since Instagram is my favorite form of social media that is where my posts are published. If you are not familiar with the process – the goal is to share one thing that makes you happy for 100 consecutive days. I have really enjoyed sharing these moments of gratitude, and will be putting together a post on my reflections once the challenge is complete. Almost there!
The issue will be out in January, and it may also pop up on their website at some point as well. I will keep you posted! I was flattered they reached out to me, and it was fun to talk about the practice of gratitude. It helped me consider some thoughts for when I write my own post on the challenge. Stay tuned since I will be finishing up the challenge in about a month.
- Whole Foods
The interview took about a half hour so I walked around the Whole Foods a little bit, and grabbed a drink at the juice bar. I usually get the Apple Super Greens, but was intrigued by the Energize Me so I decide to go for it. It was, um…healthy. Without any fruit added, it was bitter, and just well too green. Cucumber, celery, spinach, kale, parsley and lemon does not go down smoothly. It took the rest of my shop and ride home to finish this concoction one sip at a time.
I grabbed a few specialty items that you can only buy in the land of Whole Foods, and went about my day.
I also made a mental reminder to start getting ready for Thanksgiving! Cans of pumpkin and assorted holiday baking were all over the place.
Scott and I are staying local in Austin so it will just be the two of us. I still want to make the day special and plan out a mini-menu….time to get started!
I will also leave you with this sign I saw as I was headed out to my car. A little reminder to always take care of yourself.
Enjoy the rest of your day! Xo.
