Hello! Happy Friday. Ready for a new edition of Friday’s Favorite Things? I hope this Friday finds you excited for the weekend AND prepared for the holiday season. Well, hopefully at least. It can be such a stressful time of year for everyone. As always remember to breathe, and not put too much pressure on yourself. The goal is to celebrate the meaning of the holidays, and the time spent with family and friends. Special time = memories.
Scott and I are packing up with weekend to travel back home (New Jersey) for the holiday week. We have lots of loose ends to tie up before we head on out. Time to get cracking on my to-do list.
Below is a round up of the little things I enjoyed this week. They are not related in any particular fashion. However, they all simply caught my attention. Of course, a few are Christmas related, but not all. I also invite you to share an item or two that you “heart” in the comment section below.
12/19: Friday’s Favorite Things
Michael Buble’s Let it Snow
A Christmas tree and holiday music are two things that always put me in the Christmas spirit this time of year. As we get older, it can be harder to hold on to the feeling of magic and mystery the holiday brings.
I have been listening to the “Crush it Christmas” station on Pandora that Scott and I created last season. It is very eclectic, but Michael Bubble’s Let it Snow has been popping up frequently.
I am a huge fan of Mr. Buble and love every song on this album. Let it Snow indeed!
One of this week’s farmer’s market finds was different shades of cauliflower. We bought the purple and white and mixed them together for a dinner side dish.
The farmers market is always full of fun little treasures. I am also always a little surprised to learn about what is technically in season and readily available vs. shipped from far away.
I told Scott that I am giving him a promotion to Art Director in 2015. He has been a dedicated photographer on my staff of one this past year. He helped me out by taking some pics for the Be Lovely Giveaway early this week!
As I was getting dressed, I grabbed these earrings from my jewelry box.
They are old favorites of mine, but I think that costume jewelry can completely jazz up an otherwise simple outfit. I love accessories.
2015 Calendar & Planners
I have been thinking about my goals for January as well as 2015. I will be sharing them with soon in a future post. However, in the mean time I needed new calendars and planners to get started!
New notebooks and organizers always feel like a fresh start to me. They make me oddly happy.
Austin City Coasters
You most likely have your Christmas shopping done, but here are my two cents if you need a last minute stocking stuffer or hostess gift – city coasters!
I bought four different coasters of different Austin scenes over the summer. I use them all the time. Austin is known for music, cowgirl/cowboy boots and the infamous 6th Street which is where the party scene happens.
Quotes help me reinforce positive thinking. Every time I see one it as the potential to be a light bulb moment. This one really hit me this week.
We are the sum of our belief system. So even when things do not seem to be going the way we wish do not give up. It is imperative to not give into the negativity. You are what you believe.
